Attendees will be trained to make measurements from xylem fossils, estimate paleo-traits, and simulate deep-time ecosystem processes. Additionally, field trips will take students to an established fossil locality and a world-renowned botanical garden to provide hands-on context for interpreting plant fossils as once-living organisms. The course will be a mix of lecture and hands-on elements, and aims to prepare scientists to maximize the utility of the fossil record to understand Earth&#8217;s deep past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where: Haverford College in Haverford, PA<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When: Tuesday, June 2nd, to Thursday, June 11th.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Target Audience: Graduate Students interested in ecohydrology, paleoecology, trait-based ecology and other related fields.
